IMHO I think ihmn needs its own sub-board

I woudl say.
Yes to a sub board/child board for just rules questions, discussions and ideas.

I agree that people could miss out on nice photos of minis. If like me some like a visual inspiration reference.

If you have a way of posting at the top of the board. 'Just Rules Please!' or something similar. I'd stick to it.

But I admit to my lack of knowledge on how these forums are organised. I already wonder how many lovely bits of other stuff I'm missing out on. (My interests lie also in Pulp, Sci-fi, Fantasy and virtually anything else that looks pretty. I'm like a Goldfish.)

While I was in favor of the reorg of the Bazar/Bazaar, I've come to decide that it's been something of miss for me. I fear the same here.

Also, have been around long enough to see too many things the rage for a bit, then settle down.

IHNM is gem, but not the end all and be all of VSF. And certainly can use 'cross-pollination' on the regular board. I tend to think of child boards for things that 'clash' with other discussions.

I completely agree with your point there. I think that it's often a bit of snobbery, something that I have a hard time swallowing.

I'm torn on the idea of a child board for IHMN. Overall I think it would be best to keep it in this forum.

The game holds no interest for me but I still like to look at picutres of well painted figures, of which there are several threads but...

There are now 22 out of 37 threads pertaining to the game and this is a common occurrence.

A child board is the best option. It works for Sange Aeons, it works for Victory Decision, it will work for this.

I believe there are three official (as in identified as such) child boards?  The two you mention plus Atomic Cafe 1957.

Interestingly it appears they are rules centric boards.

I can only speak for the Strange Aeons board (not so familiar with the others...) and that is certainly not rules centric.

Not really agreeing with the point, as it was meant to indicate lack of certainty, while you pretty much have certainty.

I think the rules questions could do with being seperated as they are clogging up the board and hiding the eye-candy.

I think posting your piccies in the main VSF section with a reference, if you have any, to rules involving those piccies in a "sub/child board" isn't to much of a chore. It shouldn't really happen that often after all.

We as users of rules would only be adapting them to meet our needs. It would be up to Craig and Charles as the Authors to decide what is official. (Or advise on such)

It would mean that the other guys who like to read and discuss rules ideas could go directly to there.

Again sorry for my ignorance on this subject and if it causes some work for someone.

Ok Chaps, after careful consideration and discussions with The Prof we are going to create a child board just for IHMN. So I will start to move the threads across in due course.

Please feel free to continue to post AARs and photos of painted miniatures in the main board, but all rules discussions and questions should be posted in the new child board.
