Just got one to sart with. Wanted to see how he'd scale up. He's actually a Thraex, but I fiddled his sica into a gladius. I may well get the other one too. But perhaps not the huge fat creatures which are much more in the fantasy mould...

Looking forward to seeing him in action three weeks today :o

I had best get on and finish painting my new recruits as well.

Here is Arminius finished, in all his muscle-bound, homoerotic glory...  ;)

And a size comparison alongside Maximus. As you can see, notwithstanding the fact that Arminius stands upon the rostra victor ludorum, there's not much in it heightwise, although the stature of the figures is quite different.

Does make the old metal figure look a tad rustic by comparison I'm afraid - but to be fair, he's not really the best of the 40mm Battle Honours gladiators...

Great paintjob, Richard!
Wonderful job on that flesh*
 :-* :-* :-*

He does seem to match up fairly well with the other fella.
Will let perfectly fine on the 'sands'.

Nicely done and their size in not unlike, but the proportions are a little different.

He certainly is an imposing fella. And what a six pack - actually I think he's brought the whole case!!  :o

I wish him all the luck in the arena.
