Thanks for the pics. Isn't it great how models gain so much life if we invent even just a bit of a background story for them? That's about the most important thing for me: the possibility of identifying individual characters. Well done.

Speedy recovery for your arm.

Sorry to need the obvious stated, but you are playing Games Workshop LotR, right? I recognized the figs, but if I tempt myself into trying something like this, not sure it would be my rules of choice. Also, not arguing for any other in particular.

Interesting - though I really doubt that any sane Gondorian would name his ship "Glaurung"...

Sorry, I believe this clinches it, Breged is not only morose, he's insane. You WILL have to play him as such, right?  :D

Likewise, though in my case, he's damn indecisive. 'Would I really do that? I really don't know my actual plan.'  lol

Really looking forward to how this develops!

Never let rules get in the way of a nice story...

At least that's my take on rules. They are there to fit the story not the other way around.

I a planning on using the GW LOTR rules. I think they do a very good job handling heroes, which is pretty important for this campaign. That said, I'm more interested in constructed a narrative. I've already talked it over with my opponent and he's cool with playing fast and loose with the rules where necessary.

Who would have thought that the name of a fantasy ship could cause such controversy!

Perhaps Breged can be described with the words of R E Howard writing about Solomon Kane 'Grim man, of a somber race...'

I'll have to admit not trying them out; you're probably right about the importance of characters in your game, and the rules probably working as such. Sort of a GW trademark.  ;)

You want controversy? You listen to how a Brit and a Yank SAY 'controversy'.  lol

Totally your call, but I know I'd throw in some 'tortured by demons unknowable'.  :D
