The Great War in school today
« on: May 03, 2015, 07:52:42 PM »
At a nearby museum was a display of "imagined letters" written by local school children, part of the commemoration of the outbreak of the Great War. There were many mentions of football (inlcuding several references to the Premiership!) but it does seem the horrors of the conflict have permeated the childrens' imaginations. I am not sure how common the name Damien was back then but here is one of the letters I recorded.
