Project accountability Basilean army for Kings of war.
« on: 08 June 2015, 05:10:13 AM »
Hello all,

I am new to these forums and ill try to post as much stuff as I can. I have been playing and painting Kings of War stuff for awhile. Goblins and Basileans are on my to do list for this summer. Should keep me busy until My Mantic Abyssals arrive. I have pledged on another FB forum to get these 20 mounted paladins done before the end of the month. More important than that I suffer from new shiny syndrome. So, painting 1/2 armies and selling them before finish has to go. So I need to practice some paint discipline and actually finish an army. I also am working on SAGA Scots which I may get around to posting when Im finished. I really want to do a quasi historical army for kings of war for fun but ill wait till im done with what I have.

For starters I have these 20 paladins for kings of war:

Hello Wilkinson,
I'm new here too.

That's a lot of plastic to cover with paint. What's your tactic? Paint them as a unit?

I nearly drove myself insane painting Roman legionaries in units of 30. If I'm blocking in basecoats en masse I find it helps to have some epic music and a totally different character figure to one side as a bit of light relief.

Best of luck. I'm looking forward to seeing them painted  :)

May I suggest blocking bright colours, then shading with dip/wash for quick finish?

Works a treat when painting armies!

Great to see some Kings of War, and especially Basileans! Hoping to see your Goblins as well, and the Abyssals when you get 'em.

To be honest im giving them a simple paint scheme and wash. Akin to a dip but I find dip really thick for my tastes.

Best way to go when painting armies!  :D

Does not provide showcase quality, but very nice looking units to put on the table - and to some of us, it's the actual gaming that matters!

I am in support of that for sure! I dipped my goblins and they look fine. I tend to concentrate on heros or a centerpiece for the good paint jobs. Im a dad I don't have much time to paint.  8)
