Brink of Battle - Germans vs Americans squad action

Last Sunday we had a fun game of Brink of Battle.. We had been playing a lot of Bring of Battles for dark ages and for fantasy with the Epic Heroes expansion

and recently we decided to try the part of the rules for more modern combat

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=84945.0

Now it was the time for some World War II, so we set up two squads, a standard US infantry squad vs an elite fallschirm jager squad.

As usual the game is fast enough that in one afternoon going from noon till 6 PM we can play two games switching sides..

As in the past the game was a lot of fun. The core mechanics are really great for these kind of small actions and the large number of "skills" allows you to create very differentiated forces.

In this case the scenario was both sides going in and checking 3 objectives, one of which randomly being the true objective that had to be taken out of the table.. but as soon as your force is over 33% down you start checking for a bottle test that might send your squad away..

It was a lot of fun, with maneuvering and close actions among the different buildings and rooms...

Here are some pictures

Hopefully we'll do many more games..

It is actually fun to have a good core set of rules that have great depth while allowing for multiple periods gaming

cheers
Francisco

Good looking game. Who are the miniatures on both sides made by?

The minis are from http://collectorsbattlefield.com/  , they are not cheap cause they come prepainted.. but if you have no time to paint and you are doing squad actions.. why not !
