There's a reason ship hulls all have the same(ish) shape; over the course of history, we've found out that that's generally the most efficient shape.

It's only natural that your junk looks like a generic boat/ship at this point. Once the superstructure takes shape, the junkiness will come back for sure.

One thing I noticed is that there is a difference in the height of the stern between your build and the picture of your favourite junk; yours is a lot flatter/even/horizontal right now. Perhaps raising the stern significantly will help in getting the shape you're after?

The ship does look really good btw...  :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

I did think of that. Traditionally, large Junks had big overhanging transoms, and tall sterns; some with a very sloping decks like my favourite. I flattened it for game play (I don't plan on including accurate rigging for the same reason) and as my target period for these games is the 1930's to '50's, this boat shows the influence of western ship building that started in the 1700's. The sail design is really what seems to be a defining feature of Junks of the last 100 years as the hulls have become increasingly western in design.

I am pretty sure that once you build the roof it will look more like junk.  Sorry, a junk.   lol  Again, very well done.  This competition is always tough, but this year it is going to be tight.

You were right - it definitely looks a bit more far eastern with that roof.

The mast is done and the boom with furled sail is almost finished.

I just have to add a few more details to the hull and then she is ready for primer I think.

Thank you for the compliments boys. Though, I do feel like there is much better builds than this one in this competition.
