right... I have to say the upper layers have stumped me a bit... the replication of the 25mm thick wasn't going to look right so had to do a rethink and this is what I'm going with at the moment...

I think the larger upper slabs need a bit more definition, have been adding on bits that jut out a bit, which have helped break up such a large flat surface, but am not sure how much of that I can get away with to be honest...

it won't be any high than that, as that's the depth of the paper box, allowing for basing and the dirt/grass top surface that needs to go on...

That looks great! By adding weeds and plants in the cracks of the stones might also help break them up a bit, but you've got the texture down to a tee - very impressive!

right... basic build done... need to do the gravel/dirt transition at the top which I'm hoping will be successfully achieved with torn cork tile...

the eagle-eyed amongst you may notice the promontory is now longer than the earlier shots, it looked too stumpy and now a full length of A4 with the end piece now seperate... still fits in two boxes though...

still a few kinks in the joining edges which need fixing (really do need plans when I do this sort of thing) but basically that should be that... have run out of filler and sandpaper though...

EDIT: also had a thought - quite random and may not do anything with it, but do some high security fences and it could do service as somekind of animal enclosure... raptors maybe?

That's looking terrific.  Looks to be a very versatile piece.  With the 'right' colour scheme you could use it for Who, wild west, mars, prehistory and others?

Looking forward to seeing the end product, inspiring stuffs! :)

Are you planning another side to it?

another side?

I may do some lower level outcrops in front, there will be some stand alone blocks definitely... but the original quarry opens onto the Channel anyway, so that's pretty much as is, the corner on the right leads to the gateway irl...

but aside from that it'll be a corner piece... may do some caves for inside...

now that's an idea worth exploring! Can't wait to see Bishop Sam Niell beating those raptors with his bare hands!

This is fabulous.

I do hope that the games board will be suitably dressed with plenty of loose rubble, so that companions can be tripped up at untimely moments during a chase!

Beautiful...makes me realize I have no cliffs (or hills) in my terrain and must duplicate now.

Will the "L" corner section be able to be abutted to the end such that the cliff is straight? Will you have rock "plugs" to close off some of the caves as needed?

Great work!

both good ideas that I hadn't considered... did consider a bunker door insert though...
