It's an African Giant Pouched Rat. Very sensitive olefactory system.  They've been using these in Mozambique for about a decade IIRC.

I didn't know this creature existed, or that they could even use something like this to find bombs.

At first I thought it was some twisted joke, where the rat just wanders in front and if it sets of a mine and goes to Ratty heaven, you know to go the other way.

Grant i want to say that isn't a big feat taking into account the size of that breed but DAMN that rat is HUGE. LOL
