Greetings a few of mine
« on: October 29, 2008, 05:42:40 PM »
I just joined and do not wish to be purged in a few weeks, so I will post a few of my favorite VSF conversions.

Here is something I converted from an incredibles "happy meal" toy.

Here are some mage knight gatling gun converts;

This is an alien I made from a  rose hip (The dried bit that is left after a rose loses its petals) My 6 year old son ahd found it ont he ground and thought it was a dried up spider thing. I added a face from green stuff and now it is an alien menace!

And finally from my Stargate 1899 concept

Thank you in advance for letting me join your community

Welcome :)  Nice work on the conversions, as far as I can see from the small photos! :) But then I'm greedy and want to see big photos of everyone's handiwork!

I'm intreagued by your comment about Stargate 1899, as I've recently done a little bit of work on creating "alternate" SGCs (here).  Care to expand on that, or are you just going to tease us? ;)

When Iw as on another VSF board I came up with the idea of a Stargate being found almost 100 years earlier. The nations of the world almost went to war over its possesion so a multi-nation league was set up to admisiter and study it. Forces were sent through to the various locations. My pictures show the British fighting the Egyptian world (Using Crocodile Games fine Wargods of Aegyptus figures as well as standard 28mm Blacktree Egyptians)

Not many VSF palyers nearby, but I did get my role palying group to try a VSF version of D&D set in the trenches of 1890s continued civil war, (Darn Confederates resorted to Necromancy to drive the Union back, (The number of zombies raised at Chickamauga alone was astonishing) That and buying Robot soldiers from the French!)

Hope to share more soon as I digest all the wodnerful stuff on THIS board!

Yes, I hope so too. We don't seem to see enough of the Americans in VSF games, and I love the idea of a civil war that never ended with zombies et al. I'm sure I saw someone had done a unit of undead civil war figures a while back on this forum...not sure who though.

Welcome!

Hmm...

I've actually thought about using the British Home Service figures as Americans.  The uniforms of that period are very close.

The question is, how would you use them?  Prussian air assault of America?  American reinforcements for the British Empire?  The ACW delayed or never ending is one good scenario.

Any others?

Or US against England because they backed the conferedates,
US vs Canada - as canada was a british dominion and you know they backed confederates,

or even to repulse Mexican invaders (actually 1911affair of Panco Villa) or French from Mexico (although they were driven already out of Mexico)  or to repulse prussian influense in Central and/or South America!

Or intervene to stop great paraguayan war (actually there was such a plan) or intervene to promote democracy in the chaos of South American empieres/petty kingdoms/dictatorships, or just Spanish American War! -or carving a colonial empire!
