Anyone tried WWII Assault from madmitchsgames?
« on: 22 April 2015, 11:59:46 AM »
Having found myself with some leftover minis from my WWWII project I started looking for a small scale WWWII skirmish game, I saw madmitchsgames WWII Assault & thought it looked promising - I realise it's a fairly recent release, but has anyone out there tried it & what did you think?

I backed the kickstarter and got my copy.....I have not had time yet to really sit down and read it yet to absorb the game or give it a go. At a glance it looks interesting and he is planning to expand and develop the game. The scenarios so far seem to be rather interesting.

Thanks Styx, I thought it looked interesting too (& given its cheapness I took the plunge & ordered it, but I don't imagine it'll turn up fof ten days or so - US to UK).
I want a game thats really at squad level - 10 or so minis a side, perhaps representing recon forces - SAS, Rangers, Aufklarer etc. & this looks like it works at that level - Pulp Alley works, (& is a great little game) but lacks the detail this seems to have - fingers crossed!

Best squad level is Disposable Heroes version that lets you play smaller games, the only issues that I find it sometimes a bit too rules(ish) so that can drag the game. Mitch's looks more simplified so I think you may like it....I just wish he had developed more of the expansions like he had hoped.
