Thanks everyone

It was indeed a good league and a close fought race at all levels in the league. Honestly, I was very lucky to edge out on top. Really, any of the group of painters at the top end of the table could beat any of the others on the right day - it's just luck of the draw when you meet someone, and whether you are pitching one of your strongest entries against one of theirs that is just marginally off their best. I was very fortunate in this respect on a couple of occasions.
Also very sorry that real life intruded for Admiral Benbow in the second half of the league and he had to revert to using previous entries. I'm pretty certain he would have taken the crown for a second time if he'd been able to keep turning out new entries. But these things happen, alas, and real life has to take precedence.
Thanks also for the thanks on the organisation front. It's actually not too much hard work - just a bit time consuming receiving and loading up all the images, setting up all the polls and so on. Probably 3 hours a week. So not onerous. Thankfully Michael very kindly took on the draw/pairings, collation of results and publishing of league tables, which removed a good chunk of the workload. Thank you Michael.
As everyone else has said - well done to everyone who took part. There are always painters of all different standards in the mix, but the format means everyone has something to fight for, and I do genuinely believe that the league encourages people to raise their game, both in painting miniatures, and in taking great pictures of them. I've seen several regular participants get much better at this game over the years.
Above all, thanks to everyone who voted. It is a little sad that with almost 7000 members, the average vote on each match was only around 350. - which is a bit of a drop-off in interest compared to previous LPLs, where 500+ people were voting on some matches. But I guess that's partly down to the fact that we had to stop sending reminder emails this time round, and also just a bit of a lull in the activity level of many members. But its good to know that many people still get a lot out of viewing and voting on the league, as well as those taking part, so thanks to everyone who has mentioned that

As always, feedback on all aspects of the league is welcome. Can't promise that suggestions will be enacted, but can promise that all thoughts will be taken into consideration

And finally, thanks as ever to Alex, the Prof, for running the LAF for all our enjoyment in the first place

Cheers.
Richard
