We're wargamers and thus modellers and modellers like chipping. ;)  That's a thing I started thinking about a few months ago, when my niece inquired why so many things I paint ends up looking dirty and old. Right now I'm doing these Orks which are fun and all, but not even an Ork would call that gear 'working order'. Or maybe they would. What do I know about Orks.

My IG were either parade clean or severely weathered.  Loved the scene in Kelly's Heroes where the new clean troops were marching past his ground up veterans.
Painted:  2025:539; 2024: 410; 2023: 37; 2022: 56

Holy moley, Sigur, those Gundam robots are simply amazing!
I missed your thread for some time, so allow me to praise your Orks, too. Lovely little ruffians.

@YPU: Oh, thanks very much! :) Yeah, I have to admit that I very much enjoy the aesthetics of the older MS. Just watched the end of Char's Counterattack. What a nice film. Very reluctant to move on to newer things (for reasons of CGI and things possibly moving more into a high-school drama direction here and there? I'll try MS-08th Team if I can find it. And I have to admit that I'd really like to see Cucuruz Doan's Island. :D

@syrinx0: Yeah, there's something to be said for either look. When ever I do a little refurbishment on my own IG armies (every 12 years or so) I'm torn between the two. :D The main influences being ....well, 2nd edition and the Tsaragrad army from WD back in the day. And of course all the weathering and so on I've done on various other things. :D

@DivisMal: Oh, thanks very much! :) If you like Orks, here's a whole lot more:

Yup, the Orks are done. Warboss, 2 Painboys and a Runtherd:

Snikrot, sneakiest of all the gits:

Zodgrot Wortsnaga,greatest of all he Runtherders and bearer of big hair:

Big Mek, with magnetized weapon options:

Warbikes:

Nobz in Mega Armour. They're the biggest and the meanest of the big and the mean, so I limited red to a minimum and mainly stuck to black and white/metal. Also with plenty of magnetized weapon options:

18 Nobz with power klaws:

Shokkjump Dragsta:

More pictures of the Trukk:

In the front left ofthe loading platform there's a little game of Tictactoe the passengers did to pass the time.

Last but not least there's 15(!) Killakopterz:

The challenge here was to make them look as individual as possible, whilst of course adhering to the look of the larger army. These models are HARD to make look individual. I hope it worked. The googlie eyes on the one in the middle in the last two pictures probably were my mind crying out for help. :D

Anyway, hope you like them! They, along with the robot toys and much more stuff will be with me at Vienna Comic Con this weekend!

@Herbert Tarkel: Thanks very much! I've been working on this army since 2017, and I have to admit that I like this army as much as I do my own. :D

@syrinx0: Yup, it is a large horde.:D The rest of the army can be found here: https://www.battlebrushstudios.com/2020/05/showcase-orks-army-shots.html. Vehicles#1: https://www.battlebrushstudios.com/2024/11/showcase-even-more-orky-vehicles.html, Vehicles #2: https://www.battlebrushstudios.com/2024/10/showcase-speedy-orktober.html. There's some more stuff (vehicles, Dreadnought, some more Nobz), but these were smaller batches and not in army shots. :)

@tomrommel1: Cheers! Much appreciated.

@Ultravanillasmurf: Well, I hate to disappoint, but I'm super busy right now, with that Comic Con coming up, and general end-of-year frenzy... Oh no, what is this!

Last week at that event I realized that the Gundam and the Zaku II looked a bit lost, sharing one full level in the display cabinet, so I added an RGM-79 GM (Shoulder Cannon, Moroccan Front version). This time it went much faster than with the first two, most of all because I had more of a clue of what's to do, second because the kit is flawless. The Gundam is the Gundam, the Zaku II is THE iconc bad guy (the Orc of the gundam universal century universe, if you will), the GM, Earth Federation's first mass-produced mobile suit, based on the Gundam, but cheaper and simpler made, might be comparable to the imperial guardsman in 40k? They're often used just to show how mighty and powerful some new foe is.

BUT again, I love the design, and the kit itself is just magnificent. This time I used oils instead of straight-up acrylics (after the first basecoats of lacquer), and oils are just tons of fun. Couldn'tdo too much because the chap had to be finished within a few days, hope the oil paints are as dry as they felt. :D

And now I gotta get stuff prepared for Comic Con. Set-up in 2 hours.

@Ultravanillasmurf: :D Thanks!

@Herbert Tarkel: Thank you, Sir!

@majorsmith: That's what they call me.  8) (no, I'm the ONE guy who gets called the German equivalent of "Sir" at an anime convention, where everybody is super chill about how they adress others. Except me, because I seeem to be old as fudge xD )

What Comicon was that? I visited Dutch Comicon yesterday with my daughter and friends and had an absolute blast  :)

And also, because I've long been thinking of it, some rather inspiring Youtube videos and your work posted here, I bought a Master Grade GM Sniper II to dive right off the deep end...  lol
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
