It was one heck of a game indeed.
Miltos' rules are very simple and fast-playing, and have a little bit of Hollywood in them, lots of gallant last stands, dramatic changes of fortune, etc., definitely a pleasure to play with. The scenario was fun and made good use of the whole size of the table.
As the evil and despicable natives my strategy, if you can call it that, was simple: pick the right time to spring the trap. Throwing a full third of the glorious warriors of our great and merciful God onto the Egyptian water cart worked well to keep a good chunk of the colonial (spits) forces busy, evening the odds for the party attempting to carry off the supply wagons.
I have to aknowledge -and did on the day of the game- that my opponent played like a true gentleman. The scenario gave me the ability to bring back units wiped out, and several times he had my units down to one or two figures, practically useless as a fighting force and a threat, but he kept attacking where a lesser player would have refrained from wiping them out to prevent my reinforcement.
All in all, a lovely day.
