Cool scarves/shemaghs!

I have made a removable roof for my old ancient houses to make the more modern. I might just make some new houses as it is almost the same amount of work.
But anyway here it is.

I made another house for my modern board.



Also I painted some mortars. I figure them mostly as objectives.


And i finished some African regular army.

Hobby wise I have been idling for quite some time due to a very unusual Danish summer, where the sun actually came out. And the fact that the Zombie Workshops clutter had reached a critical mass, where I had to clean it up before I could do some actual work. I have now managed the mess (somewhat) and have rather ill advised chosen to celebrate it by diving into making a trench board. Creating a lot of new mess. And now I need to go buy some miniatures to fight over the trenches.

The trench is now done’ish. I would have liked to have it all finished for the armistice anniversary but it is close enough. I am debating with myself whether I should add a bit of grass and perhaps some poppies.

Maybe a little grass here and there. Even dead foliage. But the poppies would look a little out of place (even though artistically I can see why they would be attractive).

A (heavily damaged) fence (maybe two?) wouldn't look out of place I think.

So 2018 is over and it is time to do a status over what got painted during the year.

28mm models: 180 models
28mm Heavy support weapons: 8
28mm Vehicles: 7 divided up into 2 armoured vehicles, 3 cars and 2 helicopters one flying and one downed.

Last year i painted close to 400 models, so this year has gone down a lot. There are several explanations to this. First and foremost I have been building a lot of terrain this year that I honestly does not have a count on. But i should as that is just as much a part og my hobby as the miniatures are. Also I have been very disciplined with my purchases this year and only bought stuff that I absolutely needed and only if I had room in my paint que.

And I am sorry to say that my collection has come to a sor tof a critical mass, where I actually have enough stuff to play the games that I want.

Whow! just typing that made me feel light headed...

And of course that is not true - at all. I need loads more vikings and saxon types and I need an opponent army for my Mycheneans and my Landsknecht army is far from finished. And with the new edition of Spectre rules comming out I expect i will be needing som more modern combatants as well.

As some of you might know I work at a museum in Denmark. In Denmark it is a very popular hobby to go out into fields with a metal detector and look for ancient artifacts. It is legal but anything you find must be handed over to the Nationalmuseum via the local museum and then you get a finders fee.

So I thought why not make a game based on that for the museum guests. So I started building a table with some fields and an archaeological dig.


With some paint on it looks like this. There is still a ways to go..


And here is my first crack at a guy with a metal detector.


I have written up some rules for the game including a talkative archaeologist and a grumpy landowner. Basically the object of the game is to find the most treasure on the fields.
