Best metallic acrylic paint...
« on: September 10, 2017, 08:57:20 AM »
I'm after chainmail, gunmetal, brass, bronze and gold. Being very new to acrylic paint I'm not sure which manufacturer does the best metallics?

???

I like army painter range. Not sure if it is the best though.

Scale75 is far better than anything I have tried. Far beyond P3, GW, Vallejo. Vallejo Air comes close, but has problems with not drying waterproof and the pigment coming loose if you paint over it. I have just ordered some Vallejo liquid gold to try, but they are alcohol based which is another ball game.

The current GW metallics actually are very good, great deep colours, excellent covering. And I still have a soft spot for the old Gamecraft paints, their chainmail is a great indermediate between the GW Boltgun Metal and Chain Mail.
