LoTR BatRep - Using "Song of Blades & Heroes"
« on: September 29, 2017, 03:32:11 PM »
For those interested, I've just posted up the first of a series of scenarios set upon Middle Earth using "Song of Blades & Heroes" by "Ganesha Games".

This game got us used to the very basics of the rule-set and was an 'All-Out Battle' between Faramir's forces, and those of Lurtz.

And the next battle in my campaign has finally been fought and posted  :)

This time Faramir attempts to ambush his Orcish foes, but will Lurtz fall for the trap..?

Great stuff! A while ago, I posted an Amon Hen scenario on the Song of Blades Yahoo Group. It might be of some use - the idea was to have a heavily asymmetrical battle that could conceivably result in Boromir's death, along with the deaths of four Isengarders and sixteen other orcs ...

(I'm not sure if the Mordor orcs should actually be present at Amon Hen - running it with just Northerners and Isengarders would be simpler).

Awesome... if you don't mind Hobgoblin I'll probably use your scenario in my campaign? Happy to include a link to the Yahoo page etc. Might have to tweak it a bit to match the painted minis I own. Is that okay?

Of course! It's there to be used - have fun!  :)

If you don't have Song of Blades and Darkness, the "Evil" trait just allows the Isengarders to fire into melee (with a 50/50 chance of hitting their own man). I thought that worked well with the callous uruks.

Many thanks. I'm slowly trying to get to grips with the rules and like that one a lot - makes perfect sense :-)

The next part of our "Lord Of The Rings" campaign sees Faramir finally spring his trap upon the unsuspected Uruk-Hai. But will his single line of archers be enough to keep the orcs at bay..?  ;)
