Addendum: I just ordered a box. I will be kitbashing them with all kinds of other ranges to create my personal image of Tolkienesque orks/goblins...  :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

They look rather good, with their legs looking very similar to the frostgrave soldiers/cultists. 8) 8)

Northstar seems to be cracking along developing its own ranges with a downplayed fantasy style with all the benefits of multipart plastics! Well done guys. This is what GW should be doing, (at least what us on LAF want them to do).

Cheers
Matt

Got mine in the post.  Great sculpts (nice and crisp).  Admittedly too small to use as Orcs (my original hope), but will make nice goblins.

Hobgoblin seems to be the orc aficionado. Can you comment on the size of the Oathmark Orcs compared to Mirliton Orcs, which seem similar in style?

Just one of many goblin-fanciers, I'm sure!

Here's a comparison pic. The Mirliton orcs are much bigger and cruder, although the difference in height isn't particularly marked:

Hobgoblin, what other ranges will go well with these?  Any wolf riders that will work in with them, or do we need to wait for North Star to produce these?

I'm guessing Thunderbolt Mountain will work - only 7 more days to order from them :'(
Otherwise, Asgard/Viking Forge?  Ral Partha Gargantua Orcz (no wolf riders, however)?

Yes, I think these would work quite nicely with Thunderbolt Mountain or old Ral Partha. I'm making spear and shooter HotT elements from mine, for the most part, and I reckon they'll work nicely alongside Ral Partha giant goblin warbands.

The GW Hobbit wolfriders (the ones on wargs that look at least vaguely like wolves) would be a decent fit too; the riders have quite similar faces and are the same size.

I like them, wasn`t fussed when prints were originally shown but they look good. Has anyone had a chance to stick an orc head on a NS barbarian body yet?

That'd be interesting - the goblin heads are really quite tiny...but perhaps if you liked tiny pin-headed barbarians? :D

Now that is interesting.  The Grenadier/Mirliton half orcs look to be smaller (at least, less bulky) than the Mirliton orcs and the heads seem to go well with the NS orcs.

Yeah, but the heads on most 28mm figures are large.  The orc heads look like they might go quite well.  The real pin-heads are the Redbox miniatures.

GW wolfriders are temporarily out of stock!  They look quite good.  I still think I would lean towards the Viking Forge ones (or may put in a last-minute Thunderbolt Miniatures order).
