And since a long time I've also been expecting ranges of miniatures for another French colonial theatre in Africa: "Soudan occidental" (Western Sudan, = today Mali and surrounding areas).
There are surprising (and forgotten) books written by some officers and civilians who were there, on the BNF (French National Library) website, talking about adventures in Tombouctou, and from Sénégal to Bamako; pictures of "tata" (typical villages earth fortifications) and even the plans of a small boat built by French Navy officers in Bamako to explore the Niger river (the French could not start this from the sea because of geography and because Nigeria was a British colony).
I have some nice miniatures for this from Castaway Arts, but their range doesn't seem to expand any more.
