Re: The Black Order - Tiptoeing into 10mm

Cheers chaps. Yeah, they should be a fun project...Although 10mm is a real pain to paint sometimes, especially when you've glued all the minis to the base before painting, ha.

Ooh!  Those look like the TB Line knights (now from Pendraken) you have painted them very nicely indeed!

I’m not recognising the archers though, who are they by?

And what is driving this change of direction to 10mm (much as I like to see more 10mm)

Cheers! Archers are from TB as well, same line. I don't really know what prompted the dip into 10mm, except maybe just wanting to try my hand at something new.

“Dude, someone shrunk your knights”.

Seriously though, they look fantastic. Do you have a set of rules in mind to use them with? I expect you’ll be able to find lots of figures that will fit your setting.

Looking forward to updates!

Anything really! Warmaster is the obvious one, and I'd quite like to try it out. 10mm KoW has been mooted but I've already got a 28mm army or two for that, and I'm still looking forward to breaking into Oathmark...So probably Warmaster in the short term.

I finished the "redux" for the first half of the knight cav. Ended up completely stripping all the fur off and replacing with new texture plated stuff. Redid the metals, quilted armour and shields to add a bit more contrast as well. Should fit with the newer stuff now - contrasts, metals and furs all more in line with the infantry.

Thanks lads. Much appreciated :)

Finished off the first few models from the Spanish Heavy Infantry box to serve as Chapterhouse Guard veterans. These guys tower over the historical Fireforge models, so I'll mostly be using them in Vanguard and Oathmark, I think.

Outrider knights finished...finally! Resculpted alllll the fur pelts using Green Stuff World's texture plate, reworked the metals, swapped out some weapons which were either at risk of breaking or just didn't look good, and tried to improve contrast in a couple places.

Feels a bit cheeky posting a previously completed unit, but hopefully it's enough of an improvement to merit (even if admittedly it's probably mainly me who notices the difference). Anyway - next unit will be a brand new completion, I promise!

These are brilliant.
I love the infantry in particular 👍🏻

Cheers gents!

Slightly better pic of the cav - you couldn't actually see before that I'd repainted the shields, and a better look at the furs.

Lovely work mate.... most of us are just happy to get something on the table, so full credit to you for going back to improve a unit, particularly when they were cracking to start with.

 :)
