I can't believe the speed with which this force came together. What is this, like 6pts in a month or something?

Now to get you to London for Battle Brothers  lol

Haha, yeah, I started painting just over a month ago. So far, we're are 10.5 pts painted, but half of that is hearthguard.

And here is a mounted version of the Warlord and his companions. Seems I didn't post pictures of the builds for these, but the warlord has the upper body cut from the Unarmoured Command Sprue, while the companions just have heads from the command sprues. The companions use one part of the two-part cloaks on the cavalry sprue, but I used greenstuff for the lower part as I didn't like how the bit fit.

And a little surprise update for my Irish. I bought this Gripping Beast figure, he's intended as Ulf the Quarellsome, on a whim. The sculpt is lovely, but the casting was pretty bad. Things did not fit together and the weapons were awful so I swapped them for some Victrix plastics by just cutting off the original hands and gluing some hands from the Norman cavalry set in place.

Will just use as a regular Warlord for my Irish as I am not huge on the terribly unbalanced legendaries in SAGA.

As I was looking through the Age of Invasions book again the other day, I once again happened to read the Scotti old friends, new enemies. This is a variant of the Age of Vikings Irish faction, using the irish battleboard but with some different equipment options. Notably the Warlord can go on a chariot, and warlord and curaidh can me mounted with javelins.

I also realised that I happened to have exactly three Victrix late roman cavalry left from the Britons, and that I had a chariot lying around, so mini project started. So far I've built the mounted variants:

What do you think?

Was able to get the scotti warlord and curaidh ready for a little game day at the club today. Very much enjoyed playing the Scotti variant in SAGA, as the mobility of the warlord and curaidh give so many more opportunities for the warband. I also was able to run my favourite mercenaries, the Roman Deserters, and they are super solid with the Irish battleboard. So fun all in all, at least for me. My opponents were not quite as impressed....

But these are plastics, you can kitbash them ;)

Took a moment to plonk the army down on my Rohan display board to see how they look together. The mercenaries certainly add some colour.

Overall, a handsome warband.

I am particularly fond of the cav and their striped cloaks.

Thank you! The cavalry is probably my favourite part of the warband as well.

...and starting anther project, for the upcoming SAGA Age of Chivalry (100 year war and related conflicts). Going to paint these quite generic so they can play several of the factions.

Figures are a mix of Claymore Castings and Perry.

What manufacturer are the painted knights in the middle? They look great! And I’m looking forward to seeing the whole lot completed :D
