I have to say I prefered Necrons as they where represented in the 3rd/4th edition Codex when they where more mysteroius and ruled by the C'tan once they went all Egyptian Robots in space, with the next codex, and gained more personality I think they lost a lot of what made them interesting.
Couldn't agree more!
I've got a 3rd/4th edition Necron army, existing of 2nd ed Necron Raider metal models, conversions and scratchbuilds, all in line with the riveted aesthetic of the original miniatures.
What was part of the attraction for me back then was the idea of countless, faceless metal ranks marching on tirelessly. The whole notion of them having become automatons without any free will was (and is) just very creepy.
Like Cybermen, actually...

For some reason, Necrons have been cropping up in à lot of threads and conversations of late, so I'm half of mind to revisit my army and make it grow even more.
But I absolutely
love this kill team! the concept and execution are both awesome and original. I think you may actually have found the way Necrons really ought to look.
Please keep it up, because they're phenomenal!
