Finally managed to get the first unit for Stannis’ force finished...

Perry French Medieval bodies, Militon heads, and the arms/weapons are a mixture of Perry/Fireforge/oathmark with Fireforge shields with some green stuff added.

Stannis is a mixture of Perry parts, with a head left over from my space opera project.

I’m going to sort out another banner with the flaming heart, and swop the current one into the next unit that I paint up.

I’ve also finished a few hounds for Ramsey Bolton, although they haven’t come out particularly well in the photos  :?

Looking good! They've turned out great! (not that I'm biased  lol )

And nice to see some Baratheon yellow in the mix too! The TV show seemed to forget Stannis was a Baratheon and just gave his lads all-black costumes!

Cheers both  :)

I’m glad you like how they turned out...the pressure was beginning to get to me  :D

As with the Boltons I wanted to give the feel of the TV look, but add in a hint of the House colours.

Awesome project mate, it must have been stress putting the heads on those Baratheon men! I've looked at trying to mix some of these plastic sets for fantasy but it feels quite daunting! Solid stuff!

Awesome stuff, Akula, really fond of the basing in particular somehow. You’ve sold me on the IGS trebuchets, btw :)

Thanks everyone  :)

It wasn’t too bad tbh, the mirliton heads just need a tiny bit of adjusting and fit pretty well.

Read a couple of  Captain Blood’s threads, and you’ll soon get the plastic bug  :D

The movement trays, or the scattered snow?  :)

Will be interested to see your take on the trebuchets  :)

Bit more progress....

...first up, I finished another dozen figures for House Mormont, Perry bodies with a variety of Perry/Frostgrave/Fireforge arms, mainly Frostgrave heads, with the odd metal one from Westwind, metal shields from Gripping Beast and green stuff fur.

Group shot - the finished unit

I had time to paint up some more tents - these resins are from Grabblecast - excellent service, and a good quality product. I think they fit in well with the OOP Steve Barber prehistoric settlement, so I might get some more to further extend my Wildling camp.

Next on the todo list are more Karstarks, including possibly mounted.

 :)

Oooh, I really like the campsite! How do you paint the hides for the tents?

Thanks both.

The tents lend themselves to the painting method I’m using for the Wildlings:

Grey base coat, a dark wash on the ropes and to provide some shadow, then dry brush with varying shades of brown/off white.

Those new tents look the business, Matt. Very nice.

You are turning out new houses at a phenomenal rate  :o How many figures are you up to now?
