Cheers all...I must admit, it was a bit of an eye opener for me, actually having them all on the table at the same time, although I did start to think about where the gaps are
please keep those catapults behind the walls and not in front
how long did it take you to set up just for these photos?
amazing work and a strong table
A couple of hours to set everything up
Where there already detail shoots about the ship?
Yup, there is an index on page 1, but IIRC the photos of the finished ship are on pg38
Only one ship?
Only one finished...so far....shameful, I know. Plenty more on the way, the second ship WIP started on pg40
How do you keep up your painting mojo for such a big project? For so long?
I usually loose my mojo for a project after a year and don't come back for longer times then.
A mix of caffeine and having all 8 seasons on endless loop in my games room.
The main thing is to just do something...anything, when I have some spare time. If I don’t fancy painting, I’ll kitbash more figures, and if I don’t fancy that then I’ll sort out some more movement trays...everything helps.
It also helps having everything visible - they are stored in glass cabinets - seeing what I’ve done already keeps me motivated to do more.
Last, but not least, keeping everything on the one thread, and getting constructive feedback from my fellow LAF’ers (such as the suggestions for the dragon figurehead) really helps as well.
Bah! Im pretty sure all but the front row is CGI.
Based on that, how many tables do you think you'll need before this project is done?
Well, my table is 14’ x 5’, so I should be good...and in practice, only a fraction will be on the table at a time
As Qyburn would say....”the work continues”
