Cool about the Russian spelling! You have some Russian background?

Could you spell "For the Motherland" for me?

Thanks!

i'm so-called ethnic German, descendant of the german emigrants to Russia in the 18 century that followed the tsarina Catherine's invitation of 1763 and colonized the Wolga, Black Sea etc. I returned to Germany 13 years ago.

Well, that is very cool. Being from Canada my family history only goes back three generations, so it is hard for me to relate. That is some pretty interesting family history there!

Thanks again for the info on the Russian words!

Hey all,

So I was looking through my old stuff in search of something useful for some wierd WWII action and I remembered the only other walkers that I had. These were scratch built and meant to represent penitent engines for the Sisters of battle list for WH40K. Painted some time ago, and so not all that great... I was thinking of replacing the CS logo with an iron cross. What do you think? I am not sure it fits with German engineering...

that's superb, great convertion! But maybe looks a bit too high-tech for WW2. Not sure though... :?:

Hey again,

I realized that you were right, that fig just didn't fit into the Wierd WWII stage... I went out and picked up a 1/72 scale Skdz 234 and scratched a light walker together.  What do you think?  In any case, does anyone have a good colour image of a late war Heer tank on the eastern front? I plan to use it as inspiration for painting this walker.

Hi Neldoreth,

sorry, no good color image. But a good book :

Panzer Colors by Bruce Culver and Bill Murphy. Illustr. Don Greer.
Squadron Signal Publications

It helped me to paint tanks.

Late war tank colour end of 44 the ambush sceme. Small spots on side skirts. Colors are dark yellow ( base ) olive green and red brown

Winter 44 white with brown mud

During 44 ( France ) Olive Green sprayed on dark yellow.

Cheers
Björn

Prof, that scheme could still be seen in 1944-45 so it's still applicable. The model looks like an early Panther G so that would put the scheme as 1944 at the earliest if authentic.
