Thanks to another Christmas present (Figures from Vodkafan) I
have painted & based up two more bases for my Tudors project.
These are Gallowglass. Hairy bothered guys with two handed axes,
plus an attitude to match.  lol

Nice pike units. Is the square in the base for a dice?

Yes. The rules allow for figure removal to show unit degradation, but as
the 'units' don't have that many figures to start with I am going to try
this dice on base idea. Some units (e.g. Gallowglass) can fight on either
side (English or Irish) so I bought a supply of red And white dice. If the
unit is showing a white die (singular of dice) it is on the English side,
red = Irish.
Keep an eye on my progress (& give me a nudge if it all stalls) :D

Open manhole to trip up cavalry….

That does remind me. A looooong time ago an upcoming club (Medieval) campaign game
was due to have the English (all veteran gamers) attacking the Scots (To be provided by
me, but led by the inexperienced junior members).
In an attempt to balance things a bit I spent the week before building Pot hole bases.
These were to sit in front of the Scots & disrupt the English when they attacked.

On the day, move one, orders were revealed...every single player on the Scottish side
had ordered an advance!!!!???!!!   :o :o :o

Sometimes you just can't help people. lol

A while ago I saw a model barn on e-bay. It was advertised as for use with 54mm soldiers.
I thought , at a pinch, it might do for a planned 40mm project. If not I could go retro and
paint up some 54mm figures for a skirmish. The barn wasn't expensive, I put in a bid &
got it.
When it arrived... :-[
It was more for 25mm!
Not only that, it was cast from rubber which had badly warped. :?

I left it for quite a while, but then it worked its way towards the work-bench.
Worst of the warping was cut out, the main part stuck to a placemat base.
That took a lot of glue, filler, weights & time.
Then it started getting thin washes when ever there was a bit of paint left from
doing something else.

NOW it is ready for gaming. :D

Nice job.  The molded rubber is sturdy as hell but a pill to work with.
A bottle of scotch and two aspirin a day will greatly reduce your awareness of heart disease.
