Another finished task, painting the wallowing hippo heard.    Admittedly a very quick paint job.  If I was just doing one, I’d have spent more time!

Edit:

It’s given me an idea!     I could simply make a board that has a BIG wide river dissecting it.    I have crocodiles,  I could buy an elephant or two etc…..and simply have a game where the aim is to cross the river unharmed!     I may mull that one over…..

Next job me thinks…….painting a little admin!

In my head, I envisage playing a game, with say four teams….each with six bearers.    These will act as a kind of team health marker….the teams loosing theirs first being out….

Anyway, whatever I do, I’ve had these a few years so will be good to get paint on them….

Digit returns!  Haven't visited this thread for a while and missed the sign and the jazz band, very cool.

Love the hippo idea - and the game thoughts.  Though I'll admit at first - and second - glance I thought they were unpainted.  Just had to look closer.  Probably show better when in-situ in their watery home.  Certainly get cutting back on detail level when painting large numbers.

Nice lot of bearers.  I'll have to get some photos of my finished ones and post up some of them - or all of them - for possible inspiration.  If I do all of them there may be comments about my sanity because there are so many.  Heck, I think I even have a few hiding away still to get painted but not for certain on that front.

Hope to see more on this thread sooner than later.

Love the ensemble.  They wouldn't look out of place in New Orleans here in the states.  "Oh, when the saints, come marching in..." :)

And interesting idea with the bearers.  It'd be interesting to see how that works out if you do that.

 Cheers guys.

Original minis by Eureka miniatures.  I used some plastic Zulu legs and a few heads.  I also used metal bits like the mask and parrot from Reaper I think.   Grass skirts simply green stuff

I think I still need a few carrying tusks (Foundry) and I need to find a couple carrying a bagged big cat or other game.  Any suggestions welcome?

So, that’s the luggage taken care of….i suppose I could do with a few adventurers and a little hired help next…..

Nice job on those porters.  Somebody has to carry the bags...

Well done, lad!

Always good to see Askari porters be nice if you could convert something into some of them fleeing in terror and dropping their cargo.

More Askari…this time hired help, tracker, guard, trail boss.

Lovely figures from Foundry.   I will put some narrative behind all the characters in due course but I love these minis.
