I've noticed when playing Pulp Alley with Elder Son, we often find ourselves making decisions or waiving certain rules because the story is getting interesting and we don't want to spoil it. Are we alone in this?
You are not alone.  The best games tell a story and dam if the rules get in the way.

Your way is the right way.
I once heard an umpire respond to a players objection by saying, ' I know it's
stupid, but that is what the rule says'  WRONG WAY !!!!
On another occasion a player bragged that to persuade his allied Cossacks to
attack the enemy he fired on them with his OWN artillery, as the reaction test
added 2 'if fired upon by artillery.  If I had been umpiring I would have agreed
that the Cossacks launch an attack, but at HIS artillery (well they were the ones
firing at the poor Cossacks.  lol lol lol)

I agree, and it is incredibly versatile.  We use it as prescribed but I have seen it used for western gunfights and a 17thC game Cthulhu/monster hunter game.
Definitely versatile. I've used it to play Wars of the Roses, samurai, WWII, Conan, gothic horror, pulp, Cthulhu, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Necromunda. All have been lots of fun.

Thanks for that. I doubt it would have changed anything if no-one had agreed, but still...

People!  Places need people.  Not just warriors - who might also be people.  Or not!  :o. I like this new addition of villagers.

And no worries on the skin tones, Africa is a big place and their are many skin tones, yours look just fine to me.

Do you know what hippos do in the river?  Now you are really going to need those brown streaks!   >:D

Love it!  More from you in this thread is always good.  Yes, more, please.
