It's been a while since I posted to this thread. The world got busy and my painting slackened off a bit. However, I have done some stuff and and I painted up some new elves. I wanted to get away from the usual "elfish colour pallets" blue, white, greens and greys and go for something different. So I went with a bright sun motif.

I also had a think about what kind of fantasy games I want to play. I came to the conclusion I want my elves and orcs for big battles. This line of thinking got me to thinking about re-basing. So I've been doing a lot of re-basing.

Here's the new guys:

Part of my re-basing involved my recently posted Heavy Elf Cavalry. I painted up another 4 riders and raised them up to a larger unit of 12 figures.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Wow, love the elf infantry. Lovely subtle kitbash with the veiled faces and they look great ranked up.

Oh wow, they both look fantastic! Good choice to try some unusual colours for the infantry, they work well. What kind of decal did you use for the shields?

Absolutely brilliant stuff that I totally plan to copy as soon as my plastics arrive!

However, I couldn't resist thinking I should do some Dull Elves by contrast.

Thanks again for all the positive feedback. I have a pretty good sized elfin army now. I also have a good sized goblin army to fight them but I think I might have to increase their numbers in the new year and get them all ready for some big battles in 2021.

Oh wow, they both look fantastic! Good choice to try some unusual colours for the infantry, they work well. What kind of decal did you use for the shields?

Neunfinger, I made the shield decals myself... But they're not decals. I'm going to do a tutorial for how to make them on my blog soon. I've now created a few units using my easy method. They're really easy and cheap they look pretty nice and you can do whatever design you want.

How do you properly size the shields when you do the photoshopping?
