No. 3 - Shadow Knight

Shadow Knight from Northstar, 'Rangers of Shadow Deep' range.

Nice’n. I am struggling a bit with my current project to use colors for liveries but toned down a couple of notches. This is a good reference for yellow.

Thanks :) You might try adding a touch of the complementary color to desaturate your colors a bit if you find them too bright. I used GW Sepia wash for overall depth, some Agrax Earthshade here and there, and highlighted with a vallejo bone or ivory color. Yellow is a challenge as all painters know :)

Very nice entries - well done!

No. 15 - The Masque of Slaanesh

A daemon-dancer in the warhammer age of sigmar range. It's plastic and I painted it using a mix of citadel and reaper paints.

Very nice work, all around. I think I have a couple of minis in the pipeline that should fit in here, so back to the pain(t)station!  :)

Great entries all round. That bugbear is a cracking little figure.

"modern fantasy" makes me think of neon-lit vampires or the kind of books with steely eyed male models (or just their steely ab'ed torsos) on the cover featuring stories about werewolves that happen to be both sensitive lovers and single, a perfect catch for the  female perspective character.

I am happy to see that is not at all what this paint club is about  :D

So here is a thoroughly modern fantasy mini:

Artakl, Ghekkotah Clutch Warden

cast in resin by Mantic for the Kings of War summer campaign (was it last year or the year before? Even earlier? 2017! How time flies.) I would wager a pretty penny that it also is a sculpted digitally.

#20 Amazon Warrior

I'll add something to the thread. The miniature is a 32mm Amazon warrior from Bronze Age Miniatures. They're quite fun models to paint. I've got a couple other fantasy miniatures on my desk so I might just sneak in another model before the thread closes. Everything posted so far looks great and I'm excited to see what else is contributed.

I'm glad we went with 200 this time, otherwise we would already be a fifth of the way through the club.

Definitely a good decision given the lockdown!

Good to see more great additions. Especially nice to see some relatively 'obscure' minis like that bugbear (which is somewhere in my lead pile too).

No. 21 - Bronze Age Minis rogue

This is sold as a mercenary captain but I painted her up last night to represent my half-elf rogue, while playing her in our Roll20 D&D Ravenloft campaign. Much as I prefer face-to-face, there are advantages to playing remotely!

The 'captain' theme does work somewhat given the character, Evini, aspires to be a pirate captain.
