Source for a 1/56th Scale Gaz Tig + Other Russian stuff?
« on: June 11, 2020, 07:53:16 PM »
I'm on the look out for a Gaz Tigr for my Russian forces (which I'd then used to make a Gaz Vodnik potentially too). However I haven't came across one on any of the 3D printing company sites, and haven't a hope of finding a resin one. Siberia Miniatures only seem to have 1/43rd scale ones currently - though I could have sworn I seen a smaller scale Diecast on Curprum's site a while ago.

I'm also on the lookout for 1/56th MT-LB, Soviet Jeeps,  BTRs, etc. There seems to be not that many companies out there doing them these days. Sloppy Jalopy and to an extent Blitzkrieg Miniatures have a good resin selection, but don't do the MT-LB or Jeeps unfortunately. As do 3D printing sites like Butlers Printed Models, Paint and Glue Miniatures, and others have good coverage. The problem with them is that their modern stuff is nearly the price of Sloppy Jalopy's, for a much lower quality level.

So can anyone point out other companies doing decent 1/56th Soviet/ Russian vehicles in general, or ones which will 3D print them without charging an arm and a leg?

My current plan's been to replace my 1/50th scale modern vehicle collection with 1/56th scale models (see my thread in the Sales section...). Likely with the majority sourced from Sloppy Jalopy or Paint and Glue Miniatures. If anyone can point out alternatives (and yeah, I checked the pinned reference thread on this board ...it is rather out of date), I'd be more than happy to take a look. Its just a pity that the Modern scene's stuck with 1/50th for its scale (not for the 1/50th guys that is of course), as its going to be a slog to find the more obscure stuff for this latest project (I wonder what happened to those 3D printed Kurganets which were shown off in this board yonks ago).
