Sharing this here in its own thread as it'll get jumbled up in the Black Order thread. With more than a slight hint of naive hope, my gaming group in London has gathered for a campaign in Kings of War for which yours truly has written the ruleset and made the map.

In exactly one week today the Winter War begins. For anyone interested, here are the warring factions - rules to follow!

This is commercial level production values! Really impressive. The armies displayed are equally impressive.

Better than a number of commercial ventures. Thanks for continuing to inspire!

Ooh, lovely! I do like a good campaign. I'll be keeping an eye on this to be sure!

And the armies look superb! Your group can be justifiably proud of those, really great work!

But... how did you do the map? That's what I really want to know!

There are perhaps too many exclamation marks here... but I'm very excited!

Cheers all - yep, will be updating the thread soon. The kickoff is this coming Sunday, when we (hopefully) will play the first two rounds.

The map was made using Inkarnate, and the army flags are from the Battle Brothers game developed by Overhype Studios; all the colour art in the ruleset is from the awesome collection of Jaromir Hrivnac, whose stuff you should really check out: https://www.artstation.com/quintusc

I thought I'd recognised those flags from somewhere!

Though thinking about it, the Order definitely wouldn't look amiss in the world of Battle Brothers!

Here are the starting positions for Sunday - and the physical tokens we'll be using to mark territories for the first two rounds. Players get to take these home (well, the ones corresponding to their faction anyway). Was quite fun albeit lengthy making them :)

Wow! That is some really impressive work.

And here we are with the first few games. I didn't manage to get many pictures as our first campaign day was preeeeetty tight on time - 4 games (of varying sizes) in 8 hours. Next time - more pics of battles! Here's where we are now...

And for our next games...

Totally absorbing - loving it.

As an aside, where do you get the artwork from? It is really atmospheric and sets the scene for each part of the narrative.
