All very kind, thank you.
Truth be told, there are a limit on the number of good resin cast buildings available. I’m not a fan of the layer lines, a horrible example being prominent on the down pipe on the brick garage building above.
They will tell you to use a bit of sandpaper on layer lines….but unless I’m doing it wrong, that makes sod all difference! So adding a little plaster layer where you can helps draw attention from the areas less easy to disguise.
There are a lot of good buildings available in 3D print and more appearing weekly. So it may be a bit more work…but it does mean I can expand on my collection.
I don’t have Jamie’s skill with the mdf laser cut buildings…..he can work miracles with those….but I’m reasonably happy with this.
Saying that….bizarrely, there was a spurious partial layer of bricks on the OUTSIDE of their printed plaster layer! I had to disguise that with a dollop of plaster and it worked ok (bottom right hand corner of main building)
I have seen this on a few other prints too. I suspect it’s an attempt to show a little exposed brickwork but the designer has forgotten to recess it and not noticed it on the print…..be aware there are a few out there.
