Which shade of German feldgrau do You settle for?

Have any of you ever used paint sets such as the Ammo German Field Grey Uniforms (WWII I believe) by Mig Jimenez or WWI German Uniforms by AK-Interactive?

The Ammo MIG Field Grey FS-34159 looks pretty close to the  shade of Feldgrau found on the M1907/10 Waffenrock.

I've got the AK Interactive set but haven't used them for WWI . Nor WWII for that matter.

all I can add of any worth is that they are good quality paints though I would be hesitant to use them as a strict triad as they were originally designed for larger models. I would try to avoid a stalk jump in tonality and hue.

While I know of them I've never used them. The only ones I have used that are made to fit certain camouflage items are the Vallejo ones. And I am happy with those.

Apart from that I'd have to agree with Atheling that some paints differ as they're for larger display models and such.

I use their WW1 triads and they are pretty good, but be sure to shake them properly. Also, for 15-28mm figures mix the darkest and lightest colors with the base color for shadows and highlights, otherwise they are too dark/light.

Just on another note. if you're painting 15mm it's a good idea to go for a larger contrast or you may end up with a muddy looking mini so if using the AK Triads I'd use them as they are for 15mm. For 28mm I would tone them down- starting with a base of mixing "A", then "A" and "B" mixed, then B as the third layer. Perhaps mix in a bit of C for the very highest points of highlight.

As I say, O personally would use a higher contrast if I was going to paint the same in 15mm.
