A.  That motorized infantry, and their rides, look splendid!  But sorry about a partial hijacking of your thread...

All cool with your friend from Wales mate

Cold War Gets Hotter - Russian penal / conscript infantry detachment. Why give them AFVs, when they’re just meat for the grinder. Cheap $10 repainted toy trucks from Ali Express. 28mm miniatures from Under Fire Miniatures, painted in a very ragtag set of uniforms which seemed appropriate.

Cold War Gets Hotter - Leopard 2 MBTs. The Leopards will be key assets of NATO’s counteroffensive in the East (cheap die-cast models acquired off eBay, I think the models scale really well with 28mm).

Nice work, though I am concerned that some of the netting is going to foul the smoke discharges.

That infantry and their trucks look good.  I took a similar hodge-podge approach to my Balczaki infantry.  Very eastern bloc-ish, without looking like any particularly real country.

And I like the Leo2s.  But UVS is right.  The smoke dischargers won't work very well like that (but, on the bright side, as we may or may not have done when I was a tanker in Germany, they do hold a six-packs of beer cans each side....

And, if I may provide some unsolicited advice, the NATO tri-color camo scheme has a far-more defined edge to each color.  At this scale, it would almost look like a sharp edge.

BUT, as they are your vehicles - A.  They look dang good.  And B.  You may feel free to ignore me.  I get that alot (from my wife, even)... :D

Cold War Gets Hotter - Russian BTR-80A. The vehicle has a 30mm gun and 300 rounds as primary weapon. The turret is equipped with sights 1PZ-9 (day) and TPN-3 or TPN-3-42 "Kristall" (night). In production and service since 1994.

Those little green men look great! And can we get a how to on how you painted them?

Cold War Gets Hotter - Russian MTLB with infantry support. The MT-LB is an old Soviet multi-purpose, fully amphibious, tracked vehicle in use since the 1970s (28mm infantry and resin AFV from Empress Miniatures).

Steady on fellas, I hope you two aren't turning all button counter on me now.

The die cast model doesn't have well defined smoke dischargers modelled on it, so it's built for Hollywood more than history.

No worries, m'Lord.  A button counter, I ain't.  Or at least, I try not to be... especially since I take the odd liberty with my own minis.  It was really more of an excuse to mention the beer-holding capabilities of the smoke dischargers... ;)

Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
