Yes, it happens. lol

I would just suggest that even within a small hamlet you have tactical differences between buildings. Since the Dark Ages a chapel or church often was the only stone building in the village, and it makes a very big difference, there are historical examples where one party took refuge inside it. It is difficult to break in, and very difficult to set fire to it from outside (contrarily to thatched houses)...

Thanks a lot Patrice, much appreciated bit of info there. This period is totally new to me and it's things like that helps to set the background feel.
