King Henry VIII of England, attends a battle in the Italian Wars as a spectator and a honoured guess of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. Very tempted to put together an English army of the period, once the French and Italians are completed.

Is that armoured chap on the last command base from the new Athena WOTR range? Id be interested in seeing any more of them you have either painted or not, and perhaps some thoughts on how they scale with other ranges?

That's correct mate, they scale perfectly with Perry and TAG miniatures

The most fearsome of the Italian Wars mercenary leaders and commander of the Great Company, the German Knight, Werner von Urslingen, whose motto was ‘Enemy of God, of Pity and of Mercy'. Lovely bloke really, just misunderstood. Between stints fighting both for and against Venice, Verona, Milan, the Papal States, Pisa, Siena, Florence and the Kingdom of Naples, his company devastated central and southern Italy, raising money by threatening to burn houses and harvests and putting prisoners to torture.

Italian Wars - Bartolomeo d'Alviano was an Italian Condottiero and Captain who distinguished himself in the defence of the Venetian Republic against the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian. Born in 1455, into the noble family of Umbria at Todi, the son of Francesco d'Alviano and Isabella degli Atti. Bartolomeo fought very early in his life in Central Italy, serving in the Papal States, and in 1496, against Pope Alexander VI and the Colonna.
