I've always been keen for a line of 17thc zombies/skellies, nice to see someone putting some together!

Decided to visit Stokesay Castle in Shropshire today, a really beautiful fortified Manor House.

Has a cracking gate house

Great hall and tower

And fabulous detailing making it so interesting.

They are having a Halloween event

And it got me thinking…..wouldn’t it be great to have a model of this castle to play over….especially as it has a church yard right next to it….it would be really cool!

But wait a minute……I seem to recall that about 20+ years ago, I already commissioned TM Terrain to make me one!   I had just joined the Knot, and was looking for something to game over.

Unfortunately, I never really put any minis together for it, and times being tough, I sold it on to a fellow re-enactor who would get a lot of pleasure and gaming out of it. 🙁

But walking around the castle got me thinking….and having not seen him for donkeys years, I sent  him a message wondering if he still had it, still used it or would be willing to part with it….a long shot for sure……..

……and he got back to me pretty much straight away.  He did get a lot of pleasure from it, showing it at events and gaming over it, but sadly he hasn’t used it for a few years and it’s sitting in his garage, however he is happy for me to take possession once more!  What a GENT!

I pick it up next week, but he sent me a quick pic he took in his garage tonight.  It may need a little tlc, but hopefully my own skills have come on since then to do it justice!

This will be pretty cool to have home!

I’m a happy bunny. 🐰🐰🐰

Indeed!

The guy who has been looking after it was a keen D&D player and ran games on it.  In one of which, he named it “ Stakessay Castle “ something I may take on board, but will clearly need a few vampires and more undead first!

The castle is purported to be haunted by apparition of an old lady smoking a clay pipe. ……pretty sure I can manage that!
