Update time!

I added some more mini's and rebased the crossbowmen.

This is for my Hail Caesar army based around the battle of Alarcos (1195).
It's all still WIP, the bases aren't finished and more models need to be added to bases and each standard unit will exist out of three bases. (Inspired by the 7th Son channel on youtube).

On the command base is the grandmaster of the Order of Calatrava: Nuno Pérez de Quinones. There is a hospitaller priest + standard bearer. The banner isn't finished yet (small banner). There will be one or two more mini's on that base. A Calatrava standard bearer and maybe another mini.
Than there is the dismounted knight unit. Which will be a mix of 2-3 regular knights, knights of the order of Calatrava, knights Hospitallers and Templar knights. Knights of Santiago will have their own units. Lots of models still to add.
The other one is crossbowmen unit. Still a couple of mini's to add. It will be either a small or standard unit. It depends if I have enough mini's to fill 3 bases.

Cracking work Tonhel- I love the element of "realism" you have injected into the painting and modelling  :-*

Tonhel, all very nice. I too have a Cabellero 11/12th century Spanish army but mine is still in its box. Can I ask what sort of glue you found best to stick the figures to the MdF bases you use. I asked the figure supplier in UK but he admitted he had never done it and couldn't give any advice.

Thanks

I mostly drop some glue accelerator on the mdf base and than a bit of super glue on the feet and than place it on or visa versa. It glues extremely fast, so you have to be certain that the position of the mini is good form the first try.

Stunning sculpts and painting!  :-*

I have been eying these up for some time, and your work has convinced me to order a few to try out.

I wont be printing my own so it will be interesting to see how flexible the resin is on commercial figures.

David H, I don't know where you are based but in UK there appears to be 2 commercial sellers of Caballero/ Reconquer figures, being Fenland Miniatures and Iron Gate Scenery. The latter seems to attend a lot of shows in the UK, the former very few. I bought my figures online from Fenland but arranged collection at a show last year. All I can say is that they are very nice. They came fully cleaned-up but I don't know if that is the norm.  Iron Gate's figures are double the price of Fenland's which I find incredible. The Fenland prices seem far more in line with other manufacturers  such as Blitzkrieg, so Iron Gate obviously have an "interesting" business model. However, if people buy from them I guess they are happy!
