Really impressive work Matt. Painting that's going to be fun!

I think Colin has it right, when he said it’s going to be a bast@&£ to paint  lol

Is it wrong to say, I prefer all the separate pieces as opposed to the big single base they all go on to?

I agree the individual bases look fantastic...use the mdf for another grand idea!

I agree actually, but I’m going to have to combine them to meet the rules of the BSC ...or limit myself to only 6 of the bases, and that would be like choosing between my children  ;)

Technically the rules say you “move through” the difficult terrain, so I think the larger bases will allow me to create some pathways through the carnage....and then there are those pools of blood that Andy wants me to splash everywhere, so what’s a guy to do?

These look great. Do I spot a pile of intestines on the base in the bottom right hand corner of the most recent photo? You will need a strong stomach to paint your entry!

Guilty as charged. I’ll be honest, before ensuring that the leg positions for the dead horses were more natural, I did a quick google search... not something I’d repeat through choice  :'(

The terrain is meant to be “difficult” in more ways than one - Clach Umha was spot on before...

Indeed, 'difficult terrain', pyschologically, emotionally & physically

I can tell you are having way too much fun with all this bloodshed.

Well normally I just slap a bit of paint on my figures, but I’m trying to (uncharacteristically) put a bit of thought into these...some of the scenes are meant to tell a little story, and that part is I guess fun to try to think through.

Oh...and I haven’t added the crows yet.

All the bases together will create an absolute horrendous location; you sure don't do anything half-bothered, and the sculpting looks great.

This could be extra nightmare fuel, if you combine it with a zombie scenario!  :o

In terms of detail level this is shaping up to be the most impressive BSC entry so far and it's only going to get better as you paint it!

Looking forward to seeing how you put your subassemblies onto the larger bases!

Thank you mate, much appreciated.

As for zombie scenarios, I plan on using the terrain for my Game of Thrones project, so the dead being reanimated is a definite possibility  ;)

Very kind of you to say so, although I think the line up of LAF’ers this year is one of the most impressive I can remember, and there is still plenty of time for me to screw up my entry  lol

I’ve mentally rearranged the components about a dozen times already...every time I make another piece it changes the layout....just need to make sure I don’t get too carried away in the sculpting stage, as I’ve still got to blend the different parts together on the bases, and paint everything etc

Just the one from me today...

...can’t decide if he propped himself up against the tree stump, or had help...and then took off his helmet to quench his thirst.

Deal or alive...hmm...

Will try and tidy up his hands later....was too busy trying to work out how the padded sleeves would (or wouldn’t) crease...oh well.

Just managed to finish the next piece on my lunch break and thought I’d share  :D

Given the title of my entry I thought it was only right to introduce the crows to the action...the intestinal gribblies are some fine wire that has been wrapped back on itself, and then a quick coating of liquid green stuff...I’ll add a TCR cocktail to the mix at the painting stage later on.

I also took a quick photo with the last component, as I think they go well together...what do you think?

Not sure I like the way that crow is eyeing him up....

I can just imagine gallons of coagulated blood everywhere.  I agree with Akula that this will be a nightmare to paint but, as there is lots of gore he should not have to nail all the details.  Maybe use the toothbrush splatter method for spraying droplets of blood everywhere that is not pooled.

Getting excited & making jokes about dropping Nepalm on little Asian Children in a Viet' village doesn't make it ok just because 'it's wargaming & not real'. You wanker scum need to look again at the real photographic horror of such chemical weapons. Seriously Disgusting mind set amongst some you.
