The Battle of Harmony
« on: 11 April 2021, 07:05:47 AM »
We played the Battle of Harmony tonight.  This was the battle at the end of Talon of Horus by Aaron Dembski-Bowden.  It saw a force led by Abaddon board Fabius Bile's ship to destroy the clone of Horus and bring about a beginning to the end of the Legion Wars.

This was the battlefield.  The forces of Abaddon are on the left and consist of Abaddon, Isakander, Gyre, Fire Fist, his squad, a bunch of Rubricae and some Justaerian Terminators.

Here you can see some of the nascent Black Legion forces.

Here is Fabius Bile and his cloning chambers along with the clone of the Warmaster.

Bile had a bunch of traitor guard and other renegade type defending the ship, often backed up by Emperor's Children amongst the squads.

Abaddon and Iskander took the Justareians and Gyre up the right flank.

Reinforcements arrived from the various parts of the ship through a number of elevators on table.

Each turn the Bile player rolled to see if reinforcements were available picking one elevator and one unit of troops and rolling.

The rubricae blast their way through the opposition.

A force of renegades rush Iskander and Gyre before he can reach the cloned Horus.

Abaddon is assaulted by a unit of horribly mutated Ogryns.  The fight goes against the Son of Horus and he and the Justarian are overwhelmed by the massive abhumans.

Iskander breaks through and spots Bile running down the hall after the Horus clone.  His eyes narrow within his helmet and suddenly the apothecary is blasted to pieces painting the inside of the hallway with his blood.

The Fire Fist ("Don't call me that") bursts through a unit of traitor guard slaughtering them with abandon.

Gyre tears her way through the opposition in pursuit of the cloned primarch.

After tearing through the mortal crew, the Fire Fist and his squad unload everything they have on the Emperor's Children terminators.  Two went down to the Lheorvine's plasma pistol but the others weathered the fusillade of heavy bolter fire and tore into the World Eater fire support squad, ripping them apart and dove into the Thousand Sons following them.  They met a brick wall with the rubricae and fled before the soulless warriors.

The clone of Horus made it through the gauntlet to the escape pod and fled the Pulchritudinous to reeve through the Eye of Terror.

Great stuff.

Quick question – where are the terrain elements from – the grilled floors and the slanting walls? Thanks!

Thanks!  I will probably run it again as a demo game sometime after things open back up.  I was missing a couple of figs that would have been at the battle anyway so a redo is in order.  I'll let you know when we run it.
