Great looking army - and very impressive to see them all together

And another little unit completed. Some foot knights built from Perry WotR men at arms with French Dragoon heads. Quite like the combination. For some reason Staaren is almost all medieval except the Foot Knights, both units which have Napoleonic headgear.

Love to the helmets. Almost gives then a  renaissance neo-classes look.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Was waiting on some paint to dry this evening and ended up browsing through my sprues (as one does) with the idea of maybe putting together a mounted Officer for Malakal (the Officer is a hero unit in Sludge, and like the Commander can have bodyguards). Instead I ended up with my WGA Riflemen sprue, noticing that I had a decent amount of officer bits left on that. A little bit of scrounging later I came up with a foot Officer and his bodyguard.

The Officer is then a WGA rifleman officer body, Perry WotR mounted maa right arm and scabbard, a Victrix norman cavalry dagger and Perry Ansar head (I think from the command sprue). The bodyguard is a Perry European Mercenary with WGA rifleman officer arms and WGA Afghan head and shield.

Quick example of the Sludge kitbashing process. What do you think?

In the middle of working on minis for SAGA, I finished the paintjob on the Officer and his bodyguard.

 Those are rather nice, indeed!

I’d not picked up on the armoured arm for the officer on the unpainted model, but it works really well with the hussar’s jacket.
