weight might play a part, remember they are taller so a bit top heavy, ,my singles are on 2p sized washers. Not got one handy to measure but that works fine for me.

These are Piano Wargames STL files 28mm figures I had blown up to 40mm. Lovely figures. There is quite a bit about them on my blog.

Lovely figures, how many of these do you plan to have in a battalion?

Looks like they would suit other German allies in Spain.

Very cool, not obvious from the site, do you own the files and get them printed or buy them?

Schoey, I have 40 of these painted now, need to sort the companies, paint pom poms and base them. I may also at some point add some skirmishers.

Kikuchiyo, i bought the files then sourced someone who could print them at the right size (I use Paul at Sabotag3d), took a couple of attempts to them to a size I felt fit (I actually have a box full of figures that are a bit too large I cant use from getting it wrong first time around) I have also bought an STL File for a pack of French mounted officers and had this printed but yet to paint them. I may also add some more French line at some point.

Be interesting to see when all complete, that will be a good size unit.

I am trying to get all my units to 40 figures, far too big for Sharp Practice of course but I am well down the rabbit hole now.

I know what you mean Roger, I originally started 40mm for small skirmish, but has massively grown, looking at similar size units my self.

I'll start with Drums and Shakos and see where the project goes

Its the best way. to be fair I ended up being sucked in when presented with offers I couldnt say no to, not unhappy to be getting out of control, just need to stop it goign much further Lol.

Interesting approach to 40mm, I also started with the idea of skirmish level, good scale for it, but wanted more than a skirmish but not a full blown battle. More of a collector than a gamer, but wanted some games with 3-5 battalions per side, some units (squadrons) of cavalry plus some artillery.  At the moment I am favouring "Charge" an older set of rules, battalions can be between 40 -60 figures, but three or four battalions is achievable I think. , cavalry in 9 figure squadrons and artillery with 6 crew to each gun.  The look and feel is good, but it can be difficult to not expand, currently thinking of an 18 figure company "6th Confederation of the Rhine" to escort my baggage train!!!!!

Since you've been collecting for a while do you know if Sah and Sabre are adding to their range any more,I'd really like some light infantry skirmish troops but I think the Perry figures feel a bit static
