TtS battle report with knobs on
« on: 25 September 2021, 04:42:52 PM »
I don't do this that often but, this is a battle report as I think most should be done. And I'm as guilty as the rest in not doing them this way almost all of the time, because frankly they take a lot of time to do.

Words, pictures, move by (half) move diagrams. Hope you enjoy the effort.

Olicana, lovely looking game and super write-up of a game using my favourite ruleset. TTS has been a real life-saver for our gaming group as we managed to keep going during lockdown as it worked just great over Zoom. Our slightly less impressive results are recorded on the blog of Black Wolf Wargames in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Great looking game.
As I was reading and looking I said to myself,
"where did James purchase all the water terrain?"
Well I went back to a earlier post, it was made by him.
Well done.
The battle report was fun to read.
Thanks for posting.

Thank you for your kind words.

I like to make as much of my own terrain as I can. Because I'm cheap and prefer to target my cash at things I can't make.   ;)

Amazing articles, really inspiring stuff, and many thanks for providing all of this and sharing it.

I'm very new to TtS, so a lot of of your writing has provided good instruction to me. Looking forward to trying out some solitaire games to get a grasp on the rules.

Nail on head there James, I love reading 'em, but never thought to contribute!
These days I do an AAR on all our games, more for myself than anything. I'm glad I did as my wargame opponent of over 40 years passed away recently. I can relive many a happy moment rereading our old battle reports. I've taken to putting the dafter ones on the relevant sub forums. It's got me a bit of bother now and then, but most seem to take 'em as the bit of fun they're meant to be.
The way you write your AARs is very inspirational, look forward to seeing more, when you get the time!
