I've missed the last few updates.  Some more cracking, and very inspirational, work there - both the figures and terrain.

Thanks, there's been a lot of junk going on in the background, just not quite enough to bother posting.

I sold my Gothic buildings to a local 40K player, and have gone full nuts on the TT Combat stuff, including two very large orders I'm now waiting on.  One order includes all of their "stacks" terrain, so there will be a large slum city option.  I've assembled and primed a bunch of fun stuff recently, but have been painting stuff for a secret project instead.

I received three PWorks neoprene gaming mats, sized 4'x4' for use with Scrapheap and Merciless.  This one will be the primary Scrapheap mat:

2025 Painted Miniatures: 348
('24: 502, '23: 159, '22: 214, '21: 148, '20: 207, '19: 123, '18: 98, '17: 226, '16: 233, '15: 32, '14: 116)

awesome stuff you show here, and you realy motivated to paint some terrain and more Miniatures from my Necromunda pile.

I just scrolled through all the pages and the questioon might have been asked before but, what is your plan on releasing the rules?
If you have the need for someone to read through them and test I am more than happy to volunter ;-).

Please continue posting :-D

It's actually near-ish.  I'm to the point of doing photos for the rulebook and finalizing some stuff.  The card decks and tokens are done (and have been for some time).  The rules are 98% done, and it'll be a PDF, so fixes will be applied when it reaches the wild.

I've been fortunate that this one has ticked a lot of my friends' boxes, so I've got a dozen people playing it routinely at the moment.

Knocking out some NPC models for the game...starting with some awful Mantic space zombies.  Hated every second spent on these minis.

For fun I also painted up some GF9 Xenomorphs (read: dry brushed).  Almost like these models, but they have their issues as well.  Just picked these up to occasionally play a fun ALIEN style game, or an ALIEN 3 scenario using Scrapheap.

Great thread! May I ask why you disliked the mantic zombies? Your paint job makes them look good!

Awful sculpts with awful options.  A lot of detail that just disappears or is super-duper soft.  Ugly heads (replaced some with Fireforge spares).  Ugly proportions, etc.  I should have researched them before buying - but they were cheapish, and I just needed sci-fi acceptable zombies.

Those mantic zombies were some of the first sci-fi models mantic produced, if I remember correctly.  And they produced a lot.  I have a small sprue that was from the Gencon swag bag from years ago.  I think the models and molds are really starting to show their age, and some of them weren't the best plastic.  That being said, I'm loving this thread, and I think you did a great job painting what Mantic gave ya...

A new 3D printed Ogryn so I can field one with a gun (which is...a terrible idea).

Ogryn looks great! With a ripper gun and a power fist he's ready for anything.

Been a while since I posted.  Mainly been simply working on "behind the scenes" stuff for the games.  Also working on a secret project that I'm keeping from a buddy so I haven't been posting any of it online!

I did get some more games of Scrapheap in on the new and improved "mega death tunnel maze".

Also made up a pit fighter Ogryn from the 3D printed Ogryn kit I picked up off Etsy.  He doesn't photograph well, but he'll be a top challenger for Gangs who decide to visit the pit fighting arenas during campaigns.

Got some revised tokens en route for both Scrapheap and its fantasy sibling, Merciless.  Should arrive later this week perhaps.  Also placed another order for a bunch of 3D printed NPCs and characters.

I always wonder … with all the shooting taking place, are there any games that require a roll to make sure you don’t hit a critical conduit or cooling system by mistake and end up blowing up the whole facility, with them inside?
Are there critical sections of the facility where both sides limit themselves to melee weapons to avoid going boom?

I'd imagine in the delapidated garbage of the grim future..probably not. lol

However, "locations" are a key component of Scrapheap.  Each location gives you random environmental effects, encounter tables, campaign benefits and a "dangerous atmosphere" which turns on and off.  It helps make games play very differently even if you use the same scenario and scenery, etc.
