They do look good.  I've got a box of them fellers (and their canine companions) patiently waiting their turn in my painting queue...

Yup…they are growing a little on me.   Productive day yesterday….

I needed a few more dogs and a machine pistol toting officer

I needed to paint the resin casualties….bodies that may alert the defender etc

And some scenarios may call for captives

Oh and forgot to mention the game last week!

It was really a very simple intro to get used to the turn sequencing and dice, with the Germans on the alert as some sneaky Commandos had been spotted trying to exfiltrate themselves from their mission.

In simple terms the commandos simply had to get across the table and exit on the opposite side.   As it happens, this is a tad easy with the terrain as we’d set up as mostly the commandos opted to use the walled garden as their primary route of escape.   This proved disastrous for the defenders as the two man patrol within the garden were quickly and ruthlessly cut down by the teams officer with his sten gun.

Then as other guards started to arrive he basically chewed them up too…including their officer!

Two raiders that decided to sneak around the big house also swiftly dealt with the guard who appeared from the front door

The raiders quickly made their escape.

Now to be fair, with no central objective other than to evade and escape, and with no veteran cards, event cards etc, this was simple and brutal.  Great to learn a few rules but not the most exciting game.  As such we will be playing with a lot more rules and a proper objective later this week.

One good observation…I bought a pair of cheap photography lights for £30.   They come with colour filters.   We added a blue filter and suddenly, you get to plat as if on a proper night raid!

We shall be employing that regularly!

Yup…hopefully future games will be a bit more involved than this one! lol

Meanwhile, with a nod back to a sub base board….i received this for Christmas from my daughter.   Went together pretty easily, I shall fret in the painting for a bit as I usually do with buildings but hopefully get it done soon enough.

I would like to fit it out a bit….does anyone recommend 28mm machinery / manufacturing equipment etc suitable for ww2 era factory?  Ta

Nice looking factory. Dunno about, lathes, jigs presses etc but MiniArt do a whole range of 1/48 accessories like garage and field work shop et ups, tools, cable spools, scaffolds, era appropriate drums etc you could use to fill the void.

Rubicon do a Strabokran in 1/56 which would would be useful gantry crane.

Suyata do the same thing in 1/48 scale and for a little bit more than the Rubicon version comes with a complete Panther tank and by complete I mean with complete interior.

All interesting suggestions thank you.  I want to avoid 1/48 if I can….but certainly worth a look.

Dr DeAth did these a while ago, but the files are no longer at the link. Maybe they exist somewhere else?

Blue moon, you saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for....
