First attempt at some Berglanders in a hybrid style. Semi-gloss varnish and simple base but highlights added to the main painting.

Hope you like them

They look amazing  :) I think that’s how I would want to paint them rather than flat colours.

They look great, the hybrid painting style works well.

Some Panavonians next. Still need to add an mdf base but otherwise all done. Enjoying painting these. The simple clean casting makes them a pleasure to paint quickly even adding a some highlights is easy. Interestingly I’ve had to tone down the uniform highlights though. The lack of obvious sculpted creases in the uniform means a standard highlight looks too harsh. Fine on the equipment though. Not actually sure you’ll see the highlights when on the table.

Anyway hope you like them. Only bought 2 packs to try them out. Need to decide if I go all in now and build a couple of armies.  Decisions decisions!

The North Star website is back to normal, the IT guy didn't pay the bill on time. Rubbish.
Thanks to everyone who's ordered the Wave Two release, I'm hoping to get things sent out first week of October.

I don’t see the point of detailing what are meant to be simple toy soldiers.  Defeats the purpose I think.

Me neither. But they do now look like 1930s walking communist or fascist posters. Different :)

Sir,
You are right, that’s exactly what they look like.

These are lovely - a really clever take on an interesting range. I'dlike to see how the respective general packs would come out.

Those are really nice. The wood effect is very good.

Not decided whether mine will be plain or at least wash shaded (I have a pack of each state on order with Hope Eternal).

Oh rhey look pretty good. Actually back in the day when I started wargaming many people painted details. Each to his own, I think. I’ll at least try this once.
