Scottish Shiltron
« on: August 06, 2022, 05:18:09 PM »
Looking for figures suitable for Scottish Medieval MAA and Spearmen.

I have spotted the Antedeluvian Miniatures but I'm not thrilled by having to drill all of the hands out.

What time period? The Wars of Independence lasted a very long time.

It's worth it, they're gorgeous minis...

I second Dags for the early Wars of Independence: Antediluvian Miniatures are very hard to beat. Claymore Castings (also superb) are fine for 1340 onwards.

Perry's for Shrewsbury through to Verneuil.

Antedeluvian Miniatures is a good choice, despite the hand drilling. Really nice medieval models in my opinion. I have the gallowglass and they're superb.

The eBob are too late? They are also gorgeous figures, don't know if the hands need drilling.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Antediluvian 100% the best available, EBob are fantasy at best.

I concur with Matt. Antediluvian are spot on as regards to weapons, armours and clothing.

I'm afraid to say that eBob are more Braveheart than history.

Part of the Ebob range is historical but there are quite a few figs that are pure fantasy.  The problem I found with the historical figs is that they are really small.

Yeah, they're very much 25mm as opposed to 28mm. A generalisation but it gives an idea of the difference in scale.
