Who was the Sculptor the Scotia Grendel/Xyston 18mm Ancient Miniatures?

Hi  folks,

I'm not sure this post is in the right place so please mods/admins please feel free to move to a more appropriate place if necessary.

I'm trying to find out who sculpted the Scotia Grendel/Xyston 18mm ancient miniatures?

It might be a cunning plan on my part or it might come to nothing.

Any help in getting to the bottom of this matter would be great

Yup, it was/is John - he had some of the greens at Claymore a few years back.

If the cunning plan is to get him/her to sculpt more - than for the love of the gods - do it!

In my humble opinion, the Xyston range is by far the most consistently high quality and only rivaled by Legio in the 18mm ancients and dark ages.

FiB and Khurasan have some great codes - but they are smaller and not nearly as bold and paintable with the detail, and Museum is on the most part close but just not the depth. The Xyston range - and it really is so consistent - is still of the highest quality.

It's a thought at present but one that just might become a reality. We shall have to see.

I think the Xyston range stands head and shoulders (no pun intended) above most 18mm/15mm ranges. The sculpts are superb. For a short while Scotia Grandel had a shop in Edinburgh and I got to see the miniatures up close was astounded at the detail. I noticed that they had started a Caesarion Roman range which had only just had the first few packs released and nothing at all since.

Khurasan are another company who produce top notch 15mm miniatures.

The Xyston range - and it really is so consistent - is still of the highest quality.

Yes John was a member of SESWC and played DBM . The shop you are thinking of was up Gilmore place. I can't remember the name but wasn't ran by Scotia/grendel but I-kore. Was it the miniatures box?

No wonder I didn't know John if he was playing DBM- really not my cup of tea- nothing wrong with it per se, just not my cuppa
