They look splendid FoGH.
www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk gaming the British Civil Wars in 15mm, and home of the ECW travelogue - dreadful painting, mediocre prose

Thanks all, very much appreciated 👍.

A little bit tired of yellow, Richard, just a tiny bit  :D .  A rest from yellow for a bit, but I do need more soon  ::) .

Lovely looking figures and cracking paintjobs.

Can you share a little more about how you achieve these rich yellow colours? I've found yellow often comes out a bit insipid whether with Army Painter or Vallejo.

Thanks, Redshank, much appreciated 👍.

Happy to share the recipe. I was in much trepidation, and took a long time to get on with it, with painting this unit as I’d had the same issues you mention.

Brush on prime with AK Interactive primer ‘Tracks’ (a very dark brown).  Base coat GW Averland Sunset.  Key thing is to apply it in “two thin coats” (as the kids say ;D ) and make sure to allow the first to dry before applying the second.  Then a relatively light brown wash.  Then highlight with Averland Sunset again. Final highlights Vallejo Light Yellow. Hope this helps  :) .
